A Beginner Graphic Designer

I've been a Graphic Designer for months, and months already... dunno when I really started.
But still, I can't seem to find what I really want my graphics to look.. Unless... I download brushes..
unfortunately there seem to be a problem, the brushes "disappear!" I don't really know how to download them, really! but I seem to have luck to use them for a while...
Please someone help me!
